Addressed to the Leader of the Opposition LCO Latham and signed by (James Allan - aka Jim) Mollison.

Characteristics:

  • heading is in upper and lower case serif letters - capitals are 8 mm high;
  • schedule numer has been moved to the left of the date stamp box.

NOTE: Jim Mollison was married to Amy Johnson - he proposed to her just 8 hours after they met and while he was piloting a commercial flight. Flying together or solo, the "Flying Sweetheatrs" - as they became known - established many aviation records.

Mollison arrives at Croydon on 6 August after flying from Australia in under nine days He beat the record set up by C. W. A. Scott by two days.

An Australian Kangaroo was taken from Australia House, London, to meet him.
